Exodus OH

Exodus OH is an optical and thermal fire detector for clean environments where fast detection across a wide range of fires is required.

It combines optical smoke detection with thermal sensing, giving installers a broader detection method than a heat-only device. Use it where airborne contamination is not expected and where the site needs a detector that can respond to smoke and heat conditions as part of a properly designed fire detection system.

Exodus OH

Optical and thermal detection in one device

Exodus OH is built for spaces where smoke and heat detection both have a role.

The optical element helps detect smoke particles. The thermal element supports detection where heat rise is part of the fire condition. Together, they give the system a broader response than a fixed heat detector alone.

Use it in the right environment

Exodus OH is suitable for the fastest detection across a wide range of fires, but only where the environment supports optical detection.

It should not be used in areas with airborne contamination such as smoke, dust or steam. In those spaces, a heat detector may be the better choice.

Designed for stable operation

Digital drift compensation helps the detector manage gradual changes in optical sensitivity over time.

Microprocessor technology and digital detection algorithms support consistent operation, while the alarm situation test button and latch input for auto reset help with installation and maintenance workflows.

When Exodus OH makes sense

Use Exodus OH where the site needs optical and thermal fire detection and the environment is clean enough for optical sensing.

If the area is dusty, steamy, smoky or affected by normal airborne contamination, use a suitable heat detector instead, such as Exodus FT64, FT90 or RR depending on the temperature profile.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Exodus OH used for?

Exodus OH is used for fire detection in clean environments where optical and thermal detection are both suitable. It is intended for areas where smoke and heat conditions need to be detected as part of the fire system design.

Where should Exodus OH not be installed?

Do not install Exodus OH in areas with normal airborne contamination, including smoke, dust or steam. These conditions can affect optical detection and may lead to unwanted activations or poor long-term performance.

Is Exodus OH suitable for kitchens, workshops or dusty areas?

Usually not. Kitchens, dusty workshops and steam-heavy spaces often create airborne contamination. In those areas, a heat detector such as Exodus FT64, FT90 or RR may be more suitable, depending on the normal temperature and fire risk.

How is Exodus OH different from a fixed temperature detector?

Exodus OH uses optical and thermal detection. A fixed temperature detector responds when heat reaches a set threshold. Choose Exodus OH where smoke detection is suitable. Choose a fixed temperature detector where smoke, dust or steam makes optical detection unsuitable.

What does digital drift compensation do?

Digital drift compensation helps the detector manage gradual changes in optical sensitivity over time. It supports stability, but it does not replace cleaning, testing or correct maintenance.

Can Exodus OH be used on a conventional fire system?

Yes. The product supports conventional fire operation from 10V to 30V and 12V, 4-wire operation with alarm relay.

What should be tested at handover?

Test alarm operation, reset behaviour, relay operation, detector location and the final response at the panel. Confirm the detector type matches the environment before the job is signed off.
