Odyssey XD
Odyssey X-D is the imitation Odyssey X sounder for visible deterrence without electronics.
It is designed for sites where the external presence matters, but active sounder operation, backlight and comfort LED features are not required at that position. It accepts X1 and X3 covers, so the outside of the building can keep a consistent Odyssey X finish.
Use it when the requirement is simple: visible deterrence, clean finish, no electronics.

Odyssey XD
Deterrence without active components
Odyssey X-D is for external positions where appearance is the requirement.
It gives the building the visual presence of an Odyssey X sounder without sounder electronics. That can be useful on secondary elevations, larger properties and sites where active signalling is already covered elsewhere.
Consistent with the Odyssey X range
Because X-D accepts X1 and X3 covers, it can match active Odyssey X sounders on the same site.
That keeps the external finish consistent. The system looks planned, not pieced together.
Simple specification
There is no backlight input, no comfort LED battery setup and no active sounder electronics.
That is the reason to choose it. It does the visual job without adding parts the position does not need.
When Odyssey X-D makes sense
Use Odyssey X-D when the site needs an imitation sounder only.
If comfort LEDs or backlight are required at the dummy position, Odyssey X-BD is the better fit.
