Premier External TD

Premier External TD is a wired outdoor PIR detector for external movement detection.

It is built for professional installations where the detector position can be cabled cleanly and the site needs dependable outdoor detection for gates, driveways, approaches, external doors and perimeter routes.

With adjustable optics, adjustable sensitivity, digital temperature compensation and selectable 12m, 8m, 5m or 2m range, it gives installers a wired external detector that can be tuned to the site.

Premier External TD

Wired outdoor detection for controlled areas

Premier External TD is for outdoor detection points where a wired install is the right route.

It suits gates, driveways, side paths, external approaches, outbuildings and perimeter routes where the detector can be powered and wired cleanly. The result is direct, serviceable and built around the site.

Adjustable to match the location

Outdoor detection needs control.

Premier External TD includes adjustable optics, adjustable sensitivity and selectable range settings of 12m, 8m, 5m and 2m. The installer can set the detection area to match the protected route rather than leaving the detector open to unnecessary movement.

Designed for external conditions

The detector is weather resistant, with digital temperature compensation, day/night mode and high white light immunity.

That helps in outdoor applications where light, temperature and environmental movement can change throughout the day. Correct placement still matters. The detector should not be aimed at swaying plants, reflective surfaces, standing water or areas with uncontrolled movement.

Practical wired installation

Premier External TD includes wall and case tamper, selectable alarm relay output and support for pole mounting with a separate bracket.

It also includes an auxiliary input that can be used with a second detector to support directional detection where the installation requires it.

When Premier External TD makes sense

Use Premier External TD when the site needs wired outdoor movement detection and the cable route is practical.

If wiring the correct position would be disruptive, Premier External TD-W is the wireless option. If the job is internal detection, specify from the Capture range instead.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Where should Premier External TD be used?

Use it on controlled external routes where movement detection is required, such as gates, driveways, side paths, external doors and approach routes. It should not be aimed at open, uncontrolled areas.

What is the best mounting height for Premier External TD?

The mounting height should be 1.0m to 1.4m, with 1.2m as the nominal height. Mount it perpendicular to the ground and walk test the protected area after setting the range and sensitivity.

How do I reduce false alarms on Premier External TD?

Start with placement. Avoid direct sunlight, swaying bushes, washing lines, standing water, pools, polished surfaces and areas with uncontrolled movement. Then set the lowest range that protects the area properly.

When should I choose the wired TD instead of TD-W?

Choose Premier External TD when a clean cable route is available and fixed power is preferred. Choose TD-W when the correct detector position cannot be wired without disruption.

What is the auxiliary input used for?

The auxiliary input can be used with a second detector to support directional detection. This can help where the system needs movement to be confirmed in a specific sequence, rather than responding to any activity in the area.
